Telairity, a provider of video compression equipment for broadcasting and other markets, has selected Ben Silva as its new sales vice president for communications, media and entertainment.

Silva will be responsible for opening up new markets for the Santa Clara-Calif.-based company’s H.264/AVC MPEG-4 encoders. Silva’s career track spans 25 years and he is a seven-time Emmy award winner for technological and creative achievements.

"By adding Ben to the Telairity senior management team, our company is taking an important step forward," said Howard Sachs, Telairity president and CEO.
