Fisher Promotes Rob Dunlop to Senior VP of Operations

Seattle-based Fisher Communications Inc. has promoted longtime manager Robert Dunlop to the position of senior vice president of operations, with responsibility over the company’s 28 broadcast properties as well as its digital and technology initiatives.
The appointment was effective Aug. 1. Dunlop will report to Fisher President and CEO Colleen Brown.
“Rob is a proven broadcast media executive with a comprehensive understanding of our industry,” said Brown. “Our efforts are strategically focused on growing ratings, driving sales creatively and rapidly, improving operational effectiveness and continuing to develop our digital businesses. Tapping into Rob’s experience and talent to work more closely with the stations will further accelerate our delivery of peer-leading growth.”
Dunlop joined Fisher in 1991 as program and operations manager for the company’s Seattle radio properties. In 1995, he became vice president and station manager, and in 1999 was promoted to vice president and general manager. In 2006, he was promoted to senior vice president, assisting the senior management team in developing a strategic plan and launching Fisher’s Developing Media unit.
Dunlop, 41, has a BA in Psychology from Ohio State University and an MBA from the University of Washington.
Fisher owns and operates 13 full-power television stations (including a half-owned television station), seven low-power television stations and eight radio stations, all in the American West.
